Technology is changing the way we live and work, including the way veterinarians do business. In the last few years, advances in medicine and science have greatly improved the quality of pet health. Many of these advances have been adapted from new techniques and technologies designed for use in human medicine. Veterinary specialty practices normally have many of these new and exciting procedures available in their hospitals. The world of animal medicine has seen drastic technological advances in the last 20 years. Many of the new tools and procedures have been adopted from human medical practice. The advances have not only led to better treatments, but also faster and more accurate diagnosis.New and emerging technology in vet practice means that pets and other domesticated animals will have a chance of living longer and healthier. By creating new techniques and adapting others from human medicine, vet doctors can continually provide minimally invasive treatment to their patient. This book aims to create awareness regarding use of information technology in the field to empower veterinarians with the necessary skills required to face future challenges.

Dr. S.K. Singh is a Retd. Professor in the School of Animal, Rural, and Environmental Sciences. He works in the field of agricultural and rural development, both in developed and developing country contexts. He is involved in teaching, research, and curriculum development activities, primarily in the broad area of Global Agriculture and Food Security, and engaging with national and international professional organisations within the global agrifood sectors.
