The German language exhibition ›Homestory Deutschland‹ is a collective self-portrait of Black people in Germany. The exhibition contains pivoting panels that have portrait pictures on one side, and personal stories on the other. The accompanying catalogue revives the interactive experience of the exhibition. As a parallel to the turning of the panels, an action that requires visitors to physically interact with the exhibition, the pages of the catalogue need to be separated in order that the personal stories contained within them can become visible. The German-language catalogue will appear for the first time in the Witnessed Series in English translation.

Portraits about: Anton Wilhelm Amo, Ekpenyong Ani, Olumide Popoola, Theodor Wonja Michael, Bärbel Kampmann, Jean-Pierre Felix-Eyoum, Hans Hauck, Stephen Lawson, Billy Mo, Ama-Pokua von Pereira, Fasia Jansen, Nisma Cherrat, Mike Reichel, Gabriela Willbold, Kofi Yakpo, El Loko, Otto Addo, Fatima El-Tayeb, Henriette Alexander, May Ayim, Onejiru, Ria Cheatom, Sunday E. Omwenyeke, Martin Dibobe, Peggy Piesche, Carl Camurça and Austen Peter Brandt
The German language exhibition ›Homestory Deutschland‹ is a collective self-portrait. Through this summary of twenty-seven visually displayed biographies of Black women and men, all of whom have lived in Germany during the past three centuries, we are provided with examples of the ways in which the societal framework conditions shaped and formed individual life stories. In both versions, a simple glance at a face does not suffice. Only the conscious decision to find out what is 'behind the scenes' and the corresponding action form the necessary prerequisites to enable the viewer and the reader to be able to get into contact with the individuals portrayed. The German-language catalogue will appear for the first time in the Witnessed Series in English translation.
