Modern battle maps of Gallipoli are few and far between and this work is the most comprehensive. The map is drawn accurately to scale and may be used for navigation. To achieve maximum clarity, only essential roads, towns, villages, etc that feature in battle accounts, or that are needed for orientation, have been included. Principal roads are navigable by ordinary saloon car. The map also presents a full alphabetical index, location index and is printed in four colours. The precise locations of around 100 memorials, gun emplacements, forts, Ross Bastiaan plaques and ramparts are shown as well as British, French and Turkish cemeteries.

Major and Mrs Holt are well known authors of military works including authoritative guide books to the most visited battlefields of the two World Wars. This map, drawn and designed by them, is the only one specifically created to guide the visitor or chairborne tourist around the battle area. It uses the same colour coding system as for their maps of the Somme, Ypres, Arnhem and Normandy

Detailed, colour coded indexes linked to a grid reference system drawn on the map.
