Discounted for a couple of decades as a viable solution, nuclear power is undergoing a resurgence of interest amongst politicians across the developed and developing world, as a result of the search for low-carbon means of providing energy. "Nuclear Waste" critically examines whether nuclear power is really an option for future energy provision in the context of peak oil and climate change. Focusing on the track record of the nuclear power industry, the economics of nuclear power and scientific developments in the field, Harper takes timeless anti-nuclear arguments and augments them with current facts, figures and developments in the nuclear industry, to provide an up-to-date critique of why nuclear energy is not the answer to the energy crises and climate change.
