It provides the technical background for the recently revised IAEA Safety Guide on fire protection for new and existing plants and also a collection of lessons learned that is useful for practical fire safety enhancement in operating plants. It aims at providing a comprehensive summary of the experience in Member States, with special emphasis on the development of a unified approach to management of the feedback of experience, also in view of an improvement of the available methodologies for fire hazard evaluation.
